All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has also synchronized and praised the move of NEP and in their Approval Process Handbook 2021-22 said that students are eligible for an undergraduate engineering programme by passing their Class XII board exam with any three subjects from Computer Science, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship, Physics, Chemistry, IT, Mathematics or Biology. (except subjects minimum % criteria is also there to be eligible for studying in Engineering)
It simply means that Physics and Mathematics are no longer compulsory subjects for admission into undergraduate Engineering & Technology courses such as B. Tech and B.E. The recent modifications have given the B.Tech. & B.E aspirants a sigh of relief who are not having Maths and Physics at XII grade as their subjects. The changed rule will be implemented from the current upcoming academic session of 2021-2022.
