Data science calibrates knowledge from computer science, mathematics, statistics, and other various disciplines. It is a unique field with many mysteries to unlock: challenging scientific questions and as it interacts with big data thus is of high societal importance.

The objective of the B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) is to equip with state-of-the-art laboratories and strategic academic and industry collaborations to enable students with latest best practices and hands-on industry exposure-related with this field. The curriculum is designed in close collaboration with industry experts considering in-demand tools and various technologies of data science. Data science enables to have computational decisions and enables to handle big digital data. In the Department, structured and unstructured Data are gathered, generated or processed which are utilized as a base for development of various internal policies and activities. (100 % admission in the Dept.)

The department is well established with experienced and skilled faculty members, furnished classrooms with LCD Projectors, well equipped Labs with core i5 and i7 processors, supported with latest software platforms and applications, a set of dedicated rack-mounted servers deployed in a fully networked configuration based on the concept of server computing, a Seminar Hall (Seating Capacity: 180), a Departmental library, Internet Facility of 400 Mbps 24×7 and Fully Wi-Fi campus.
