Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad under the ages of GENTRONIX (The ECE Forum) organized Webinar on “Signal Analysis Made Easy with MATLAB” on 18th September, 2020 for B. Tech. ECE 2nd year students. The major objective of the program was to showcase students how easy it is to perform Signal Analysis tasks in MATLAB. The resource person Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, Assistant Manager – Application Engineer, Design Tech Systems Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, has explained about analyzing signal data regardless of signal processing expertise. He provided the knowledge of common signal analysis techniques such as visualizing and pre-processing the signal, filtering, identifying and measuring relevant features.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering organized one day Workshop on 16th Sep 2020 on “CMOS Technology: Fundamentals & Advances”. The talk was delivered by eminent speaker Dr. Ashish Raman from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. He delivered talk on recent trends and challenges in VLSI Technology, Advanced CMOS circuits and Futuristic Nanoscale Semiconductor devices and technology.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has organized one day Webinar for students of IPEC on 13th Sep 2020 on “Company Specific Puzzle & Quantitative Aptitude” by Center of Excellence of VLSI & Embedded System through online mode. E-Certificates were awarded to quiz wining candidates. The goal of this webinar was to enhance student skills to get the right job and to enhance their performance technically.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad has organized three days Faculty Development Program on “Effective Teaching Padagogy-An Effective Tool For Accreditation” in online mode during 20-22 July, 2020. The chief guest of the program Dr. Vikas Mishra, Director of Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur addressed the participants about the importance of FDP in current scenario for the colleges going for accreditation. The lecture was delivered by eminent speakers Dr. Ramendra Singh, Ms. Meenakshi Sharma & Mr. Ajay Chauhan, Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad ECE department.


The objective of this FDP was to identify the gaps in the teaching learning process by discussing the various effective teaching strategies, their outcomes and also discussed Bloom’s taxonomy and its domain. Thereafter, discussed about effective assessment methods and the rubrics related to outcome based education.

Session 2019-20

Date: 10th August 2019 Audience: Faculty and Staff of ECE and EN Deptt. Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, Assistant Manager – Technical Support, Design tech Systems Ltd., Delhi, provided a thorough knowledge of Data Analysis and deep learning using MATLAB. The workshop targeted to explore the MATLAB tools for Machine Learning and Deep Learning. The first Session started with the concepts of neural networks. Then he discussed the supervised and non-supervised learning methods of neural networks. He enlightened the attendees with the various types of curve fitting like linear and quadratic fitting and their implementation using MATLAB.
In the second session, Mr. Akhilesh Kumar explained the Artificial Intelligence using Deep Learning, a machine learning technique that teaches computers to do what comes naturally to humans: learn by example. Then he discussed the key technologies behind driverless cars, how they are enabled to recognize a stop sign, or how they distinguish a pedestrian from a lamppost. It is the key to voice control in consumer devices like phones, tablets, TVs, and hands-free speakers. Then he explained the uses of MATLAB in deep learning. He also discussed the specialized toolboxes of MATLAB for working with machine learning, neural networks, computer vision, and automated driving.
Date: 14th September 2019 Audience: Faculty, Staff and Students of ECE Deptt. The Department of ECE organized a one-day National Seminar on 14th September 2019. In the sessions eminent academicians, researchers from universities and industry persons were invited to deliver their talk. The seminar started with an inaugural ceremony including lamp Lighting, a Welcome address and a brief overview about the seminar, its contents, and its scope. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. M.K. Seth (CGM, ALTTC, GZB). Eminent speakers for the technical sessions were Dr. Mukhtiar Singh.
Date: 24th September 2019 Audience: Students of 3rd year, ECE Deptt. The ECE forum, Gentronix, organized a workshop on Electronic System Design & Manufacturing. The resource person, Mr. Deepak Kumar Gahlot (Director, Trax Circuits, Delhi) delivered the contents on electronic system designing in a very fruitful manner. Mr. Deepak shared the statistics about annual growth, revenue, market share of EDSM. He discussed the needs of skilled man power to cope up with global demand in this area. He also discussed the various initiatives taken till date to Promote Industry-led R & D and innovation in all sub-sectors of electronics, including grass root level innovations and early stage Start-ups in emerging technology areas such as 5G, loT/ Sensors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Virtual Reality (VR), Drones, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, photonics , Nano-based devices etc.
Date: 22nd October 2019 Audience: Students and faculty members of ECE Deptt. Department of Electronics and Communication had successfully organized an interactive and motivating session with Shri Mahesh Seth, Chief General Manager, BSNL, ALTTC Ghaziabad under IEEE Student Section on 22nd October 2019. His Assistant Manager Shri Abhishek Gupta also accompanied him. He told us many things regarding mobile networking technologies and their latest trends in the market. Shri M.K Seth motivated us towards the positive aspects of life. He is such an inspirational and enthusiastic orator. He enlightened our minds with the notion of a good attitude towards our lives, setting our goals, and pursuing them with consistency and hard work. Adding more to this, he shared his experience as an Electronics Engineer and about his journey till date.
Date: 10th December 2019 to 14th December 2019 Audience: Faculty members of IPEC and other institutes EICT, IIT Kanpur in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and Electronics and Communication Department, IPEC Ghaziabad has completed a faculty development program on IOT and It’s Applications starting from 10th December 2019. The internship program was successfully completed on 14th December, 2019. In the Faculty Development program total of 44 faculties have participated from various institutes like IIT Delhi, IMS Ghaziabad and Galgotias University.
During this Faculty Development program, faculties were exposed to various aspects of embedded systems design and the internet of things aspects with hands-on experience. The major technology areas which were covered during the internship program were Node MCU, Digital and Analog Input/ Outputs using Node MCU, PWM generation and its applications, Sensors Interfacing (Temperature, Humidity, rotary encoders etc.), Displays Interfacing (LCD, OLED, GLCD etc.), Communication Protocols (I2C, SPI and 1-wire), Internet Connectivity of embedded systems using ESP module, Real-time servers such as Thing speak and Google Cloud.

Session 2018-19

Date: 14th September 2018 Audience: Faculty and Students of ECE Deptt. Dr. V.K. Gupta and Ms. Meenakshi Sharma organized a workshop on MATLAB under the Gentronix forum in association with Math works team on 14th Sept, 2018. The target recipients were faculty and 3rd Year ECE Students (5 students from each section). The session comprised of various expert talks from Math works which gave the basic ideas about MATLAB and its various tools.
Date: 20th September 2018 Audience: Students of ECE Deptt. A one-day Workshop on “Speech Recognition using Machine Learning” was conducted at Inderprastha Engineering College by IEEE Student Branch for 2nd, 3rd & 4th Year interested students on Thursday, 20th September 2018, in order to foster and promote the knowledge of Machine Learning. Topics covered were introduction to Machine learning, Classification, Present-day applications, Cloud Technology with ML, Future scope and Speech Recognition using machine learning followed by a quiz session.
Date: 2nd November, 2018 Audience: Faculty and Students of ECE Deptt. One day National Seminar was organized by the Department of ECE, Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC), Ghaziabad. Eminent academicians, researchers from various Universities and industry persons were invited to deliver their talk in the area of Radar Antenna. The event was a great success and fruitful for the targeted audience. Dr. B. C. Sharma, Director, Inderprastha Engineering College was the chief patron of the seminar. The first technical session was started by Dr. N. Sridhar Ex-AGM, BEL, Ghaziabad. He briefed the audience about the applications of communication in Satellite Communication, Terrestrial communication. He discussed about practical antennas like Surveillance Antenna, Tracking Antenna like 2D tracking, 3D tracking. Talk session-2 was delivered by Prof (Dr.) Malay Ranjan Tripathi, Amity University Noida. He discussed various aspects of Wireless Communication, Internet of Things, Review of antennas, Antenna design & testing, Metamaterial & FSS, Future directions.
Date: 30th March 2019 Audience: Faculty of ECE Deptt. Expert talk given by Dr. Ramendra Singh on Outcome Based Education held on 30th March 2019. In the session, he discussed about the vision/ mission of the department and also issues related to teaching-learning process-based education and to frame out rubrics related to that. He also discussed about how to define course outcomes according to Bloom’s Taxonomy and tell us about different keywords for framing out course outcomes. He has also discussed about program education objectives of the department. He has taken an example for framing PEOs and talked about how it is related to vision and mission of the department. He talked about Program outcomes and mapping of course outcomes with POs & PEOs. Next he told us how to calculate direct attainments of a particular course with the help of university results taking care of the different tools used to calculate it.
Date: 12th, 26th & 27th March 2019. Audience: 2nd Year Students of ECE Deptt. Centre of Excellence TI innovation lab was conducted a workshop on working on “Analog System Lab Kit (ASLK Kit) for second-year students of ECE Department. The workshop was organized by Ms. Ritu Agarwal & Mr. Vipul Bhatnagar on 12th, 26th & 27th March 2019. The workshop will help the students to be exposed to the operation of the basic building block of analog systems.
Date: 25th January 2019. Audience: Students of ECE Deptt. IEEE Student branch has organized a seminar session on “Using Platform for Internship and Networking” on 25th January 2019. The session helped students in getting to know about different platforms available and how to use them. The seminar provides opportunities to get internship across different domains. It also helps students to get access to Online International Certification Courses which will enhance their skills. The session was organized by Mohit Dubey, IEEE student Branch Chair & Ms. Amita Agnihotri, IEEE Student Branch Counsellor IPEC, Ghaziabad.

Session 2017-18

Date: 12th August 2017 Audience: Faculty, Staff members and Students of ECE Deptt. Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad organized a one-day National Seminar on “Recent Trends in Electronics and Communication Engineering” on 12th August 2017. The goal of the seminar was to fill the gap between industry and academia. The event welcomed various dignitaries of renowned institutions and industries to make students aware of latest trends and research in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
The guest speakers for the event were experienced researcher having respective field expertise. The event included four sessions. The speakers of the sessions were: Session 1: Dr. Dinesh Prasad, (Associate Professor, ECE Department, Jamia Millia Islamia University) Session 2: Mr. Yashjit Kumar Teotia, (Sr. Principal Consultant, NTT Data, Noida)
Date: 7th Sept. to 9th Sept. 2017 Audience: Faculty, Staff members and Students of ECE Deptt. TI Centre of excellence organised a workshop on MSP-430 and Internet of things for students and faculty of Department of ECE. It was held from 7th to 9th September 2017. The workshop was organised in collaboration with “Edgate Technologies” Bengaluru. Mr. Asif from Edgate technologies delivered training to participants. Workshop was attended by 47 students and 16 faculty members. Workshop was divided into 6 sessions in which theoretical concepts of MSP-430 F-series, G-series, CC3200 and along with programming of these modules using CCS (Code Composer Studio) in Embedded C were covered during workshop.
Date: 30th Oct. to 3rd Nov. 2017 Audience: Faculty and staff members Faculties of ECE department- Ms. Priyanka D Gupta and Mr. Narbada P Gupta organized a 5 days FDP on “Wireless & Mobile Communication” by NITTTR Chandigarh for ECE faculty members and interested 3rd & 4th year students, from 30 Oct to 03 Nov, 2017. More than 30 faculty members from ECE department attended the event. During five-day event, lectures on various wireless and mobile communication technologies like 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and MIMO systems were conducted.
Date: 3rd January 2018 Audience: Faculty and staff members ECE department has organized a guest lecture on 3rd January 2018 under Gentronix Forum. He is Chair of Numerical Optimization, TU Dresden Department of Mathematics, Dresden, Germany. The research and teaching activities of Numerical Optimization focus on the design, analysis, and application of efficient numerical methods for several classes of optimization problems. They include smooth nonlinear constrained optimization, complementarily problems and variational inequalities, related no smooth and degenerate problems, problems in discrete optimization, in particular problems of cutting and packing, optimization tasks in machine learning and diverse applications.
Date: 5th -9th March 2018 Audience: Faculty and staff Department of ECE has organized a Virtual workshop on Outcome based Education on 5th -9th March 2018. The talk was delivered by faculty members of NITTTR, Chandigarh. Inauguration of the event was done by Mr. S. K. Gupta, Mr. B. S. Pabla, Mr. S. K. Dhameja Mr. A. B. Gupta. In the second session Mr. BS Pabla has given introduction of the outcome based education . Ms. Maitreyee Dutta discussed about evaluation of attainments of COs, POs and PEOs. An expert lecture was delivered by Lini Mathew /Shimmi S L for filling up of SAR Mr. C Ramakrishan shared his experience on NBA Accreditation. In the valedictory session Mr. S. K. Gupta, Mr. B. S. Pabla, Mr. S. K. Dhameja & Mr. A. B. Gupta has taken feedback from different colleges about this workshop.
Date: 09th – 16th January, 2018 Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, Mr. Mukh Ram and Ms. Rashi Gupta attended a One week workshop on “Human Values & Professional Ethics” held at IPEC, Ghaziabad conducted by Value Education Cell, AKTU Lucknow from 09th – 16thJanuary, 2018.
Date: 8th and 9th June 2018 Audience: Faculty and students IPEC organized its 2nd National Conference on Recent Trends in Electronics & Electrical Engineering (NCRTEEE-2018)on 8th and 9th June 2018. The conference was well attended by eminent academicians, faculty members and students from reputed technical and educational institutions from different parts of the country and representatives of governmental bodies and industry. In six technical sessions under four different categories titled Power System, Energy & Control, Signal Processing & VLSI, Communication & MEMS Design and Microcontroller/Embedded System held over the two days, 68 papers were presented at the conference. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest at the inaugural function, Dr. P.K.Sadhu, Professor, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad on 8th morning. The Conference Proceedings CD was released by the Chief Guest on the occasion and the certificates to the participants too.
Date: 18-23 June 2018 Audience: Faculty of ECE Dept. The faculty development program on “Advances in Signal & Image Processing” through TEQIP, Phase III was held at the Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC), Ghaziabad, during 18-23 June, 2018. This FDP was sponsored by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Eminent academicians, researchers from Universities and industry persons were invited deliver their talk in various areas of Signal Processing & Image Processing. The six days event was memorable for the entire speakers and also for the host institution. Prof (Dr.) V K Gupta, Head of Department of Electronics & Communication, Inderprastha Engineering College was the convener.

Session 2016-17

Electronics and Communication department has organised a one day technical session on Mathworks product i.e. “MATLAB and Simulink” on 24th September 2016. MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based multi-domain dynamic and embedded systems.The session has been delivered by DesignTech Systems Ltd. which is one of the largest CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM Solutions & Engineering Services Provider in the Country with wide portfolio to address the most specific embedded systems and complex engineering requirements.

Session 2015-16

A one day workshop cum hands on session has been organized in ECE department by the faculty coordinator Mr. Pratik Purohit on 7th April 2016. The workshop was based on “Interfacing of various peripherals with Aurdino”. The topics which was covered in that workshop were Introduction to Aurdino open source platform and hardware specifications, Interfacing of LED and buzzer, reading input from switch, reading analog input from potentiometer, brightness control of LED, Serial communication between Aurdino and computer.
